Broken Circle
Broken Circle is a GBA RPG with an unfortunate history. It was developed by 7 Raven Studios, but publishers saw it as too big a risk: it needed an expensive 256 Mbit cartridge, and 7 Raven was an unproven developer.
The developers worked to cut the game down so it would fit on a much cheaper 64 Mbit cartridge, but by the time they had done so the GBA was nearing the end of its life.
One publisher did eventually show interest, but it was not approved by Nintendo to release cartridges for its systems. The game was also judged not to be of high enough quality to be ported to the Nintendo DS, which hurt 7 Raven Studios badly.
In 2007, 7 Raven Studios released the ROM on its website, so the game can still be played today.
