Conkers Bad Fur Day

Conker’s Bad Fur Day was developed by Rare, the studio behind many of the Nintendo 64’s best-known games, and was one of the last games it released for the console. It was originally aimed at a younger, family audience before being reworked for a much older one.

The game features graphic violence, sexual content, strong language, toilet humour and several film parodies. It was critically acclaimed but sold poorly, which many put down to its release late in the Nintendo 64’s life and a lack of advertising. Beneath the adult humour is a varied action platformer, with a range of minigames and puzzles.

It was later remade for the Xbox as Conker: Live & Reloaded. The graphics were greatly improved, but some of the adult content was toned down, with provocative imagery covered up and strong language bleeped out.
