Starship

What you need: A ROM of Star Fox 64, US 1.0 or US 1.1 (Rev A), in .z64 format, dumped from your own cartridge. European and Japanese ROMs can't be used as the base, only as an optional voice language added to a US ROM.
SHA-1 of a correct dump, by version:
US 1.0: d8b1088520f7c5f81433292a9258c1184afa1457
US 1.1: 09f0d105f476b00efa5303a3ebc42e60a7753b7a
Starship is a native PC port of Star Fox 64, built by Harbour Masters from the Star Fox 64 decompilation.
It adds widescreen, higher resolutions and frame rates, a settings menu, custom controls and support for mods and texture packs. Builds are made for Windows and Linux.
The download contains no Nintendo data. On first launch it asks for a ROM dumped from your own copy of the game.
How to set it up
- Extract every file from the archive into a folder you can write to.
- Windows: run
starship.exe. Linux: runstarship.appimage(you may need tochmod +xit first). macOS: runstarship. - Select your US 1.0 or US 1.1 ROM (in
.z64format) when asked. - On first launch it builds its game data (
sf64.o2r) from the ROM, next to the executable.
